Simon Clegg is London-based global licensing director at the Open Invention Network (OIN), the LINUX open-source community and patent no-fly zone. OIN was formed in 2005 with investments from IBM, NEC, Novell, Philips, Red Hat and Sony to protect and promote Linux. This global organisation is focused on driving patent reform, creating and growing a community of patent non-aggression and the prevention of bad quality software patents through the Linux Defenders program. Simon previously ran technology licensing at Alcatel-Lucent based in Paris and was managing director of TAEUS Europe. Simon is a partner in technology and media at Withy King, and chairman of Rushforth Media. He is an IP lawyer and holds an MBA from London Business School.
